About

A fine gardening and landscape design studio

Our Story

The Enchanted Garden is a local, Richmond, Virginia small business rooted in a deep love for plants, landscapes, and the living systems that support them. We believe gardens are more than just something to look at; they are living ecosystems that deserve thoughtful care, curiosity, and respect. Every space we design or tend is shaped by careful planning, deep plant knowledge, and a genuine desire to help each landscape grow into itself.

We specialize in fine gardening, native plants, and sustainable landscaping, creating gardens that are not only beautiful, but also beneficial to local pollinators, birds, beneficial insects, and the surrounding ecosystem. Our work is nature-forward and site-specific; we pay close attention to the soil, light, architecture, and existing plant and animal life in each space so the garden feels grounded in its environment rather than imposed on it.

Our services include custom landscape design, detailed seasonal maintenance, hand pruning, vibrant container gardens, and creative, plant-centered workshops. We also create and sell mini-worlds, mounted plants, bonsai, and terrariums; living art pieces that bring the same care and ecological awareness into smaller, more intimate spaces. Whether we’re shaping a high-end residential garden, designing around a historic home, building custom insect hotels and bird feeders, or crafting small-scale living worlds for homes and businesses, we bring the same level of care and curiosity to every project.

At our core, we are artists and creatives first; we just happen to be horticulturalists too. That creative lens shapes everything we do, from the way we design landscapes to the way we build small living worlds. We blend artistry and ecology to create gardens and plant-based works that feel generous, resilient, and deeply connected to the natural world; helping your landscape thrive naturally over time.

“We blend artistry and ecology to create gardens and living works that feel intentional, alive, and rooted in the natural world.”
